When we moved to Kansas from Colorado, we thought we were getting a great deal on a house with some land. We weren't able to come out a and view it because we needed to get our old home ready for its new owners. A few days before closing on our new home we were able to make it out to take a look only to find that this house was maybe 5-10 years from collapsing on itself. Needless to say we pulled out of that deal and quickly realized we were essentially homeless. We resumed our search from a motel which allowed our menagerie of pets and found a few possibilities but nothing that would fit our situation. We contacted Dawn through realtor.com and set-up a showing at one of our prospective homes. We met her at the showing and really liked the home but weren't able to get financing for it. She mentioned some alternatives that she knew about and we ended up buying one of them. It may not have been exactly what we were looking for but it has loads of potential to be turned into something great. Instead of working on repairs, I can focus on improvements and get our new home to fit our needs. Closing was fast and we were able to move in before closing which got us out of the motel. Dawn was empathetic of our situation and worked hard to get us back on our feet after the crushing blow of that first house.
