Jim McAdams entered the Real Estate Business in Hot Springs, Arkansas in 1977 after graduating from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a BA in Economics. He has worked continuously in the Real Estate field for his entire business career. Jim is a GRI (Graduate of the REALTOR Institute) and a CRS (Certified Residential Specialist). Both professional designations offered and secured through courses developed through the National Association of REALTORS. Jim and his late mother, Dorothy McAdams, owned and operated McAdams Realty Co until 2007, when they merged their company with several others to form ERA Rushing McAdams Polychron REALTORS. Jim and the other Agents at ERA joined Coldwell Banker RPM Group in June, 2019.
Jim has served in literally every officer position of the Hot Springs Board of REALTORS during his career. He was honored with the Life Achievement Award from the Hot Springs Board of REALTORS in 1998. Jim was President of the Arkansas REALTORS Association in 1994. He was appointed to the Arkansas Real Estate Commission by Governor Mike Huckabee in 1996 and was elected Chairman in 1999. He served several terms as Director of the National Association of REALTORS. Jim currently concentrates on sales of both residential and commercial properties. Since 2007 he has worked in a Team Concept with fellow REALTOR Kent Dover, accepting all listings and sales as Team Members. Consistently Jim and Kent have earned Awards of Excellence recognition from the Arkansas REALTORS Association for their production level. In 2011 they were awarded the highest production level possible and were designated Diamond Team Level and have achieved that goal annually thereafter.
Jim has extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of Real Estate. He has also been active in banking through the years and has served as outside directors for two bank holding companies. Current professional interests have been concentrated in his desire to promote and provide Fair Housing. He has served twice as a member of the National Association of REALTORS Diversity Committee. In April of 2012, Jim was appointed by Governor Mike Beebe for a five-year term to the Arkansas Fair Housing Commission. Jim was honored by his friends and customers for several years by being selected 1st Choice in the Hot Springs Sentinel Record Reader's Choice Survey.
Jim is involved in many local activities including Hot Springs National Park Rotary Club as a Paul Harris Fellow, Hot Springs Executive Club, Fifty for the Future, and the Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce. Some of the many causes he supports include American Cancer Society Relay for Life, United Way of Garland County, Garland County Humane Society, Garvan Woodland Gardens, UAMS, St. Jude, and many others.
Hobbies include traveling, cooking, and hanging out with good friends.
Jim specializes in commercial property, lake hamilton, new homes and resort property transactions.
