Cross County is located in the northeastern part of Arkansas and was founded on November 15, 1862. It was named after Confederate Colonel David C. Cross, who served during the Civil War. The county has a strong agricultural history, with fertile soil that produces various crops including cotton, soybeans, corn, and rice. The county seat, Wynne, was established in 1888 and named after the railway engineer Captain Jesse W. Wynne.

One fun fact about this region in the USA is that Cross County has the longest-running county fair in Arkansas the Cross County Fair, which started in 1889. This fair brings in people from all over the area to celebrate agriculture, local talent, and community pride through various events and competitions.
