White County, Arkansas
.White County, located in the heart of the great state of Arkansas, was created on October 23, 1835, and named in honor of Hugh Lawson White, a prominent U.S Senator from Tennessee. The county seat is Searcy, which was founded in 1837 and named after Richard Searcy, an early settler in the Arkansas territory. White County has a rich history dating back to Native American tribes such as the Quapaw and Osage, who initially inhabited the area.
The arrival of European settlers in the early 1800s and subsequent infrastructure developments led to significant growth, particularly during the mid-1800s with the advent of steamboat travel on the Little Red River. The county experienced a further economic upswing with the completion of the Cairo and Fulton Railroad in the 1870s.
