Apple bloom

The Apple bloom, a species of flowering plant native to Arkansas, was designated as the state flower of Arkansas in 1901. The Apple bloom is a member of the rose family and has five white petals that curl backward. It has yellow stamens and is usually found in moist, wooded areas. Apple blooms are typically in bloom from April to June, and the shrub can grow up to seven feet tall. The Apple bloom was chosen as the state flower of Arkansas in recognition of the state's long history of apple orchards and orchard farming. Apple orchards were first planted in Arkansas in the early 1800s, as settlers were drawn to the state's rich soil and plentiful land. Though most of the state's apple orchards were destroyed during the Civil War, orchard farming has continued to be an important part of Arkansas's agricultural industry. The Apple bloom was officially adopted as the state flower in 1901, and it has since become a beloved symbol of the Natural State.
