Stamps, Arkansas is a small village with a population of around 1,500. The village was named after its founder, Abraham T. Stamps, who settled in the area in the 1830s. Here are some interesting facts about the village:

1. Stamps is often referred to as the "Tomato Capital of the World" due to its history of tomato farming and processing. In fact, the town used to have a Tomato Festival every year to celebrate its tomato heritage.

2. Stamps was the childhood home of Maya Angelou, an acclaimed poet, memoirist, and civil rights activist. Angelou directed the Stamps Community Center for a short period after returning to the town in the 1960s.

3. The Stamps School District is one of the smallest in the state of Arkansas, with only one school serving around 300 students from kindergarten to grade 12.

4. The Boyhood Home of President Bill Clinton is located only a few miles from Stamps in Hope, Arkansas. The Clinton Birthplace Foundation now manages the site and offers tours to visitors.

5. Stamps was incorporated as a village in 1946 and has a council form of government with an elected mayor and council members.
