Ernie moved to Tucson in 1952 from Grosse Pointe, Michigan. The Minchella name has been a part of the Tucson Business Community since that time. He attended Salpointe Catholic High School, University of Arizona Business College before entering the U.S. Navy in 1961 serving Stateside and Overseas.
Ernie has enjoyed volunteering as a Pet Therapy Team with his Shetland Sheep Dog "Lady". They have volunteered at the Tucson Veterans's Hospital Complex and the University Medical Center's Diamond Children's Center.
