The Official Arizona State Quarters

Arizona State Motto: Ditat Deus (God Enriches)
Front of the US quarter dollar coin   Arizona State Quarter

The Arizona state quarter was designed by Donna Weaver and released in 2008. The design features a Saguaro Cactus, with the state's motto, "Ditat Deus," inscribed around the cactus. The cactus represents Arizona's unique desert landscape, and the motto is Latin for "God Enriches." The design also includes a banner with the year "1912," honoring the year Arizona was admitted to the Union. The stars surrounding the cactus represent Arizona's place as the 48th state. The background includes a sunburst and rays to represent the state's nickname, "The Grand Canyon State."

The second Arizona State Quarter

The Arizona National Park Quarter was first released on March 28th, 2021 as part of the United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters Program. The obverse side of the coin features a portrait of George Washington with the inscriptions "In God We Trust," "Liberty," and "2021." The reverse side of the coin features a saguaro cactus in the foreground with a panoramic view of the Sonoran Desert in the background and the inscriptions "Arizona," "Grand Canyon," "E Pluribus Unum," and "America The Beautiful."

The Grand Canyon National Park is featured on the Arizona National Park Quarter. The Grand Canyon is a natural wonder that has been carved out by the Colorado River over the course of millions of years and is considered one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The park is home to many species of plants and animals, and is known for its breathtaking views.

The saguaro cactus, which is featured on the reverse side of the coin, is an iconic symbol of the Sonoran Desert and is an important part of the Grand Canyon experience. The saguaro is a long-lived cactus, and can live up to 200 years. It has become a symbol of the Southwest, and its flowers are the Arizona state flower.

The America the Beautiful Quarters Program is a series of 56 coins issued by the United States Mint from 2010-2021 honoring national parks and other national sites in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories. The program was created to celebrate the beauty of the United States and to honor its national heritage. The Arizona National Park Quarter is the fourth of five coins released in 2021.
