Cottonwood is a city in Yavapai County in the state of Arizona, United States. It is approximately 100 miles north of Phoenix and 23 miles southwest of Sedona. It has an estimated population of around 12,000 people. The city is located in the Verde Valley and is surrounded by mountains, including Mingus Mountain and the Sedona Red Rocks.
Cottonwood has a rich history dating back to the 1800s, when it was founded as a farming community. Today, it is home to a vibrant arts and culture scene, including dozens of galleries and several annual arts festivals. The city also features many unique shops and restaurants, as well as a historic Old Town and a number of parks and hiking trails.
