Scott Dunbar acquired his respect for Real Estate at a young age in Southern California. His parents bought, restored and sold Mediterranean style homes on the Palos Verdes Peninsula until retiring to the Central Coast to continue the same techniques with ranch and rural properties.
After college, Scott's love for open space took him to the Central Valley of California to start his career in Agriculture. First purchasing a 24-acre apple orchard, he soon added an additional 24 acres and rested his skill as a farmer. Farming being as it is sometimes, Scott went to work at a local Agricultural Equipment Company, Randell Sprayers, to supplement his income.
Within three years, Scott purchased a competing Equipment Company, Exeter Welding and Supply, and added equipment design to his credentials. Seven years later, the yearning for Southern California was too strong, so Scott liquidated his holdings and moved to Santa Paula. Ventura County's agriculture offered him business opportunities and the temperate climate he had missed.
Scott immediately purchased a commercial site to open his new equipment company, Scotcan Co. He owned and operated this business for nearly 20 years, providing local farmers with custom design, parts and service for all types of farm equipment. Scott soon became recognized as a talented and community minded businessman.
Several years before leaving the strenuous work with equipment behind, Scott realized his network of land owners and his ability to assess farmland would serve him well in Real Estate. His wife Cynthia was a professional Realtor and encouraged Scott to enter the business.
Scott quickly adapted to Ranch and Land sales, using his high ethical standards as his guide. Within two years, he earned his Brokers license and became one of the premier Ranch and Land Brokers in Ventura County. He utilizes a unique approach to marketing complete support form his chosen Brokerage, Troop Real Estate, Inc.
Scott has represented buyers and sellers ranging from mom and pop farmers to the powerful Limoniera Company. He prides his successes on finding the right buyer and creating transactions that result in win-win situations regardless of any of the difficulties encountered along the way.
Scott specializes in lemons, oranges, avocados, rowcrops, acreage, farms, land, ranches and rural transactions.
