Early Life:

David studied Audio Engineering and worked in the Music Industry in Los Angeles for a few years before deciding to cross over to the Real Estate industry. His first employment was as a Mortgage Originator for a large regional Mortgage Broker in 1994.

I really enjoyed my time learning under a major regional brand because Im naturally a shy person. Not only that they taught me about the fluctuation of interest rates, Feds agenda and how it impacts our industry, rate programs and buyer qualification, but they also taught me how to interact with buyers and how to support them from the beginning to the end of the loan process. As a result, the happiness that I created for the client overcomes any shyness that I once had.

In 1999, David obtained a Brokers License and started a Mortgage Brokerage with partners. Besides originating loans, he hired, trained, and managed 15 loan officers and 2 processors. The firm had a list of 100 lenders including originating loans for Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi Bank and Chase Bank.

I can never forget my time teaching agents what I learned at the beginning of my career. Learning how to fish is the absolute key to success in any industry, but most importantly, learning to listen to your clients needs and finding a solution is what its all about. Even though we process loans every day, each loan comes with a personal story as to why they are buying a house or refinancing a mortgage. If I had to make an assumption as to whats the most important life lesson in our line of work, its to learn how to listen.

Later life:

As a natural progression of agents that work in the Mortgage industry, the buying and selling of Real Estate was always intriguing, so in 2014, David joined Keller Williams in Palo Alto and Burlingame for a couple of years to learn the ins and outs of Real Estate transactions. A few years with one of the top Real Estate companies in the world born the idea of AFFINITY REAL ESTATE in 2017 until today.

Ive always had a burning desire to share my knowledge with my clients whether its in Mortgages or Real Estate. Whether Im on the sellers team or buyers team, there are always questions regarding property characteristics and events, transaction logistics and contractual circumstances, so there are absolutely no small questions. The more you know and understand a situation, the more comfortable you are with your decision.

For fun:

David enjoys walking his 2 toy poodles, Curly 6 pounds and Cocoa 9 pounds, during off hours. Also, the Bay Area national sports teams are a big hobby of his, San Francisco 49ers, Golden State Warriors and San Francisco Giants.
