As a child my parents taught me the value of hard work, responsibility, and doing the best I could in all my endeavors. From childhood paper routes, mowing lawns, and working stocking shelves at the corner store, those values were reinforced and I developed the work habits that would serve me throughout my life. Thus, it was not unusual to me that at a young age (21), I founded my real estate business.
As with most small businesses, I endured plenty of challenges and there were times that changing my course of direction might have been my best option, but I persevered and did not quit. This is one of the many lessons I've learned as a small business person! It is one of the greatest lessons of my life!
Over time, I developed a great client base and repeat/referral business that signaled to me that I was on the right track. I also recognized that I lacked other skills that I needed to learn, business and intellectual skills. Therefore, I initiated and embarked on a long history of attending night school (JC level) in order to earn enough credits to transfer to a 4 year college. This was no easy task given the motivational challenge; business committments, and my advancing age. Nonetheless, I persevered and eventually graduated from St. Mary's College in Moraga, California!
Along the way, I've received numerous accolades for business performance, awards, etc. and these are important to me but have never been a focal point. My success comes from knowing that many of my past clients recognize me as a friend and trusted counsel. My interests have always been the interests of my clients first and foremost and this belief has rewarded me with trust, confidence, respect, and rewards money cannot of buy.
These days, I focus on discovering new ways to market property effectively and giving my clients the best real estate service their money can buy. I constantly strive to deliver much more than my client expects. I find this enjoyable and a great challenge!
I joined Pacific Union International Inc. in 1998, and still believe it is the best real estate company in the San Francisco Bay Area. The tools I have at my disposal increase my effectiveness and give my clients an amazing advantage in the marketplace. I am fortunate that my knowledge and skill gives me the oppportunity to work for any real estate firm; yet, in nearly three decades of real estate service, I've spent nearly half those years working at Pacific Union International Inc.! I am very proud of this association.
In addition to being a proud Saint Mary's College Alumnus, I am a passionate writer and reader. I write and publish a monthly real estate newsletter/blog. I also publish A Word from the Rocket, a blog, about travels locally/abroad and other interests. I am a regular contributor to the opinion pages of the San Ramon Valley Times, and have been published nationally by the Wall Street Journal.
I am a proud Father, and live in Danville, California with my two children! My children, grade schoolers at Creekside Elementary School and Diablo Vista Middle School, enjoy playing sports, including Mustang Soccer!
