Born on the east coast and then moving to Michigan, Laurie graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Materials & Logistics Management. Laurie was recruited to Loral Aerospace in Newport Beach, California where she refined her contract writing and negotiation skills. With her love for the mountains she launched into Purchasing for Aspen Skiing Company and bought her first home. "After going through this process personally I knew I wanted to help others do the same."
