David Madone is a Canon City Native. His fathers family immigrated to Brookside here in Fremont County from the small Village of Taranta Peligna, Abruzzi, Italy, in the 1880s. David was born and raised in Canon City, Colorado and attended the Canon City Public Schools graduating with the Canon City High School Class of 1972.
After graduating high school, David attended college at The University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado and then returned to Canon City to serve as an apprentice brick and stonemason with his father, Rocky Madone. As a journeyman brick mason David moved to Northern Colorado and worked on many commercial construction projects before going to work for Roche Constructors in Greeley as an estimator. David spent over 13 years with Roche in various positions such as estimator, construction superintendent, project manager, safety director, and manager of special projects. Upon leaving Roche, David started a small general construction company called Madone Constructors, Inc. and built several multi-family construction projects in the Greeley area.
In 1999, David moved home to Canon City and began selling real estate full time with the local RE/MAX franchise, becoming the managing broker in 2006. In 2008, David founded River Street Real Estate, Ltd. and operated the company as a single agent out of his home until recently. During the slow economy between 2011 and 2013, David worked with Holt Family Funeral Homes as a funeral director helping families through their times of distress in addition to staying active in real estate.
In 2010, the Royal Gorge Association of REALTORS presented David with the distinguished honor of REALTOR OF THE YEAR.
David has always been civic minded and has served his community in many ways throughout the years.
David specializes in buyer agency, commercial, seller agency and vacant land transactions.
