What you need to know Its all uphill from here for Steve Wiseley, who loves the reward of a tough climb be it on a road bike ride, long run, hike, or skinning up on skis in the winter. I like the climb more than I like the speed, Wiseley says. The New Jersey native is always running (literallyhes run 36 marathons) but also when it comes to his professional life. For 25 years he ran multiple businesses and real estate investments in Southern New Jersey, but his mainstay was a high-end jewelry store with a 7,000 square-foot showroom. As an avid skier and hardcore athlete, he loved the Rockies and came out to Colorado whenever he could. Coming here for the first time and seeing these mountains, I fell in love with it. I spent the next 35 years coming and going from different resorts.
It wasnt until he visited Aspen in the summer that he knew he had to make a permanent change. He was in awe of our community, even more so in the summer, spring, and fall than in the winter. I know this valley like the back of my hand, from Aspen to Glenwood Springs and beyond. Chances are Ive run it, Ive skied it, Ive hiked it or Ive biked it.
What he brings to the table
When Steve got his real estate license in 2016, the transition was a natural one. As a real estate investor, Ive been in the industry for 30 years, and my experience in high end retail, I know what clients who are in the luxury market expect. I speak their language and relate to them from both a quality and monetary standpoint, he says. Im the guy you come to when you want great personal service. Dealing with people comes naturally to me.
When hes not in the office
I love biking up Indy Pass, to the Maroon Bells or up Castle Creek or hiking with my Bailey, my white Golden Retriever. In the winter I love to throw the skins on and just go up, 2,000 or 3,000 vertical feet. Like running, going uphill puts a constant stress on your body so youre constantly pushing yourself, and thats what I do whether Im playing outside or selling real estate. He also loves spending time with his adult children when they can make to the valley. Ive got three awesome kids in their 30s who have been coming out here and enjoying this life with me for all their lives. Im all about family.
