Susans love for skiing brought her to the Vail Valley from the East Coast over three decades ago. Born and raised in Stamford, Connecticut, she had her first real estate experience in high school working for the leading brokerage in Stamford. From there she ventured to Boston to attend Northeastern University, and was very fortunate to hold internships at top companies, including General Foods, IBM in Boston, and Computer Science Corporation in Manhattan. Armed with her real estate knowledge, a B.S. in Business with a specialization in marketing, and two years of corporate work, she moved to the Vail Valley and started working for Century 21 in 1986, where she won numerous awards for her success. At this time, there were little if any Realtors under 30. Her go-getter attitude and genuine care for her clients and their needs, quickly grew her business into the luxury market. Between 1989 to 1994, she and a couple of partners opened up an ERA franchise in Crossroads in Vail Village. Embracing the entrepreneurial spirit, Susan decided to open her own real estate sales and property management company by 1995. She had the opportunity to purchase office space and watched Riverwalk develop into a thriving community. At one point, she had up to 11 agents whom she helped succeed while managing up to 30 properties as well as her numerous real estate sales. In addition to her own company, she bought several investment properties, gaining critical knowledge of investing and property management with a knack for working with investors. This allowed her to create many cash flow analyses for clients, which helped them off-set the cost of ownership and guide them to the right properties. Over the years, this led to repeat and referral investment business. Susan was incredibly knowledgeable, really listened very carefully, and screened what was important to us so that we didnt have to look at numerous properties, says a Beaver Creek homeowner. Her negotiating skills helped us obtain a great value! Susan loves to help second homeowners find their dream homes. With her deep knowledge of luxury properties, she specializes in the areas of Vail Village, Lionshead, Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch, Arrowhead and Cordillera. In the exclusive community of Cordillera, Susan found her love of developing homes. From 1999 to 2003, she developed three multi-million dollar homes. After building her first home in Singletree in 1994, she couldnt wait for the next opportunity. Her knowledge of building and remodeling is unmatched, but its not just four walls that gets her excited. Technology has always been a strong suit of Susans. In 1996, her company was one of three in the Vail Valley who had a website. This began an entirely new way of conducting real estate and sparked an idea in 2006 with the creation of a lifestyle oriented website, VailValleyLifestylewww many years before the lifestyle term became commonly used.
