Before moving to Colorado in the fall of 1997, Mike was a real estate developer in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. While in Wisconsin, he spent four years building the prestigious Bristlecone Pines Golf Course community, starting with 363 acres of farm fields and ending with a 225 home subdivision and a championship golf course which just hosted the Wisconsin U.S. Open qualifier tournament.Mike has been helping people buy and sell real estate locally since 1998. He started with Stein & Company, a Metro Brokers firm, and later formed the Malec Group, his own real estate brokerage firm. In 2007, Mike was selected to join RE/MAX of Boulder, Inc. the most dominant real estate firm in the Boulder County area. Mike has focused on the residential market, with emphasis on quality service, dedication, personal attention, and customer satisfaction. To earn the CRS Designation, every REALTOR must have significant experience and demonstrate a high volume of real estate transactions, as well as complete rigorous educational requirements. The training available to CRS designees includes a strong focus on technology and its applications in the real estate business. Less than 4% of all licensed Realtors are Certified Residential Specialists.Graduate, Realtors Institute (GRI) - is a professional designation Mike attained in 1999 to further his real estate career. Less than 5% of all Realtors nationally attain this designation.Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE) - is another professional designation Mike attained in 2009, having completed extensive training in foreclosure avoidance and short sales. Short sales allow the cash-strapped seller to repay the mortgage at the price that the home sells for, even though it is lower than what is owed on the property.
