Here are a few facts about Westminster, Colorado and historical events that took place in the area:
1. Westminster was founded in 1911 as a dry town, meaning no alcohol was allowed.
2. In the 1930s, the construction of Denver Boulder Turnpike (now I-36) brought more people and commerce to the area.
3. The historic Westminster Castle was built in 1892 and was a college for women until 1983. It is now used as an events center.
