Seymour is a town located in New Haven County of Connecticut State. The town has an area of 15.0 square miles and a population of around 16,500 people as of the 2010 census. The town was originally settled in the early 1700s and underwent significant development during the Industrial Revolution due to the growth of the transportation industry. Today, Seymour is known for its small-town charm, natural beauty, and historic architecture. Visitors can explore the numerous parks and trails scattered throughout the town or check out some of the local landmarks such as the French Memorial Park, the Housatonic River, and the Freeman Houses. Seymour also hosts several community events throughout the year, including the annual "Seymour Founders Day" celebration and the "Seymour Pumpkin Festival."
