3. North Haven is the birthplace of the Frisbee. The Frisbie Pie Company, located in North Haven, made pies that were sold throughout New England in the 1870s. Students at nearby Yale University began tossing the empty pie tins around, and the game of Frisbee was born.

5. The famous American poet, Emily Dickinson, had relatives who lived in North Haven.
6. The town was once a major hub for trolley cars, and the old trolley tracks can still be seen along some of the town's roads.
