A fun fact about Woodbridge, Connecticut is that it is home to the first conservation easement in the United States. The easement was created in 1968 to protect land within the town from being developed or destroyed, and it inspired the creation of similar conservation programs across the country. Today, more than 37,000 protected acres in Connecticut are now preserved through conservation easements.
