Jewett City is a borough located within the town of Griswold, Connecticut. Originally a mill village in the 19th century, it is now a residential area with a mix of commercial and industrial development. The borough is named after Eliezer Jewett, who established a sawmill and gristmill there in the early 19th century. Jewett City is home to the Slater Memorial Museum, which houses an extensive collection of artwork and artifacts. It also has a historic downtown area with a variety of shops and restaurants. The population of Jewett City is approximately 3,500 people.
