Jean and Gary discovered St. George Island while attending Florida State University in the early 1970s and returned to the island often to camp while in college. The couple lived in Tallahassee for over 30 years, but always felt like the St. George Island and Apalachicola area was their second home. Gary is a local building contractor, and has been building on St. George and the surrounding area since 1987. He has been a licensed Real Estate Agent since 2009. Jean and Gary have been actively involved in investing in St. George Island and Apalachicola since the late 1980s, and after watching the island grow over time, made St. George Island their home in the summer of 2005. They have three sons and two grandchildren.
Jean graduated from Florida State University with a Master's degree in Education, and taught for over 20 years. She has been a licensed Real Estate Agent since 1987, and became a licensed Broker Associate in December of 2013. She also is a certified Resort and Second Home Property Specialist and is currently working on her GRI designation. Jean is presently a member of the Board of Directors for the Apalachicola Bay Chamber of Commerce and a member of the MLS Committee for the Realtors Association of Franklin and Gulf Counties.
Gary also graduated from FSU with a degree in Education and taught for 20 years in the Leon County School system. Gary has been a licensed contractor since 1987, specializing in coastal construction. He has built homes from Water Color to Summer Camp, but his primary focus has been St. George Island. Gary has been a vestry member at Trinity Episcopal Church and is currently on the board of directors for the Apalachicola Historic Society and the Apalachicola Main Street Program. He is a long-standing member of the Apalachicola Area Chamber of Commerce.
