Compass Real Estate - Jackson Hole in Jackson

Like so many before me, I was hooked on Jackson Hole at an early age. My family traveled from Tallahassee, Florida to Moosehead Ranch, and I have been captivated by the grandeur of the Tetons ever since. We watched wildlife, rode horses, went rafting, and explored the majestic mountain terrain. It was a wonderful trip in a spectacular setting, and it has served as the ideal vacation to which all others pale in comparison. Perhaps it was that vacation which sparked my interest in exploring new regions.

Following graduation from high school, I attended a small liberal arts college in Virginia, focused on broadcast journalism, and competed in equestrian competitions throughout the Southeast. Those four years sparked lasting friendships and reignited my passion for learning. In addition, under Washington & Lees honor code, I matured as a person of integrity. Those same qualities of honesty and high ethical standards which carried me through my university years did not fade away upon graduation.

I researched and wrote the history for a banks centennial celebration, and I created video documentaries for weddings, business promotions, and historical purposes. I also backpacked through Europe, and traveled Down Under, but I never forgot about Jackson Hole.

Many years after my first glimpse of the Grand Teton, I ventured out West for a one month sabbatical/ski trip. That was 1995. I've been rooted to the region ever since. A month wasnt long enough to savor everything the mountain lifestyle had to offer. I packed my bags, brought my horse from Florida, met my future husband, and bought my first house.

For more than a decade, I've been enjoying the mountain lifestyle and investing in properties. In addition to real estate, my other passions include hiking, traveling, riding, gathering with friends, and cross country skiing out our back door. Our two children keep us young, and I love watching them explore and grow.

In 2000, my husband and I moved to "the quiet side" of the Tetons. Our family has grown, and we now live in Alta, Wyoming with our chocolate lab. Were still residents of Teton County, Wyoming, but this little niche in Wydaho boasts of one church, one blue ribbon elementary school, one library, Grand Targhee Ski & Summer Resort, and no big box stores. To leave by road, we have to drive to Teton Valley, Idaho and pass through the countys one stoplight in Driggs.

I have become accustomed to the friendliness and accountability of living in a small town. You smile at people passing by, and a milk run to the grocery story might result in a dinner invitation. When my sister visits from Florida, she laughs about the relaxed pace she calls Targhee Time. We take time to chat with friends on the sidewalk, and the weekly sheriffs log is dominated by loose cows and lost cell phones not illegal activities and hardened criminals.

Teton Valley is a great place to call home. Drawing from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, the valley boasts an energetic mix of farmers, athletes, educators, artists, second home owners, and cowboys. Teton Valley has the close knit feel of a small town without being close minded. Stop by for a visit, and you might decide to stay too!

Whether you prefer Teton Valley or Jackson Hole, let me be your guide. Im licensed in both Idaho and Wyoming, and I can show properties throughout both states. For honesty and integrity, you can count on me.
