23 years ago, Sandra found herself in a no-win situation that she knew she had to change, she realized base of where she was that she wants a better life not only for herself but for her children and to change her circumstances she had it to go to another country and that was United States. She arrived In Naples, FL a primarily white community a female Latino with 3 little kids, with no money, didnt speak English, no documents. But she knew she had the opportunity in this country to provide for her children at a much higher lever and for her to do that she took a big leap of faith and migrate to United States. That was the biggest change of her life.
For the first year her only means of transportation was a bicycle to get back and forth to work as a caretaker for the elderly. For Sandra to persevere and do all the things that she knew that she wanted to do by been here she had to really get uncomfortable and do things she had never done before. She started out in a mobile home community knocking doors asking if they want to sell. She went every weekend for 30 days and sold 8 of them and made her first 8,000. Then she was told to go and get her real estate license, through adversity and perseverance she took the test that is written in English that she could barely understood but she passed! She knew that to get this license was the way forward for her kids and herself. She also had to persevere through discrimination, she sent contracts to agents that they were not accepted because she was Latino, 23 years ago there was no Latino community in Naples, FL not even in the stores.
All these experiences founded her passion to help others, and it doesnt matter if youre Latino, White, Black, Asian or what country you are from she wants to help.
She has been involved working in the shelter for Abused women and children, she worked at the state attorney, she is currently sitting as the president for the Naples National Hispanic Real Estate Professional 2022. She believes we can overcome all forms of adversity including discrimination. The key is to have the will to do it.
There are no excuses. What is required is the will to succeed. And she is here today to share her experiences, so people understand what is possible and to be an example.
She wants to lead with passion and to continue to learn from others.
