Background and Experience:
My interest in real estate began when I was a child in the 1980's and my parents began building spec homes and developing subdivisions. Over time my interest intensified and by the time I was a senior in 2002 at Hiwassee Dam High School, I had decided to do my Senior Exit project on Real Estate. My project mentor was Sonya Reid, an agent at Appalachian Land Company.
After graduation, I attended Tri-County Community College where, at the age of 18, I earned my North Carolina and Georgia Real Estate licenses. I immediately began pursuing a job as an agent at Appalachian Land Company. Steve and Jo Crowe, owners/brokers of the company, were at first hesitant to hire me because of my age. But, I was persistent, and one year later I was hired. I have been with the company for ten years. During this time, I have earned the distinction as one of the company's top producers.
As a Lifetime Member of the Million Dollar Club, I continually challenge myself daily to always do my best. I am Short Sale and Foreclosure certified by the National Association of Realtors and I work very closely with a number of local and national banks. During this recession I have closed many short sales and foreclosed properties. I have earned the distinction of Certified Residential Specialist, a designation from the National Association of Realtors which only 3 percent of all realtors have earned.
In 2006, I followed in my parents' footsteps and partnered with Steve and Jo Crowe and started a new development called The Birches at Riverbend. In 2008, I built my first spec home there which proved to be both a learning experience and a leap of faith. I am looking forward to developing and building many more homes over the next 10 years.
As the economy recovers from our current recession, I continually look forward to the challenges that lie ahead by serving others in my area of expertise, real estate. This beautiful area of western North Carolina will continue to be the place people desire to purchase first or second homes, or to purchase a retirement home. And, it will always be my goal to make that experience a memorable one.
