Cooper has been active in the business community of the CSRA since 1983 as founder/ owner of Augusta Telephone. As part of the business community, Cooper has served as Chairman of the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Executive Board of the Metro Augusta Chamber of Commerce, 2-time President of the Augusta Better Business Bureau, President of the Piedmont Chapter of Quail Unlimited, and Founder and Chair of Augusta Tech Alumni Association. Cooper and his wife Jackie have been a part of the Lincoln County Community since 1993, having developed Cliatt Crossing Convenience Store, Scarlett Oaks Subdivision, Habanero's site and the Personal Care Home at Cliatt Crossing. Cooper and Jackie have 4 children and 11 grandchildren and are members of First Assembly Church in Lincolnton.
Presently, Cooper is serving as the District 3 Commissioner for Lincoln County and beginning a new career in Real Estate, giving him the opportunity to meet and help people in the Lincoln County community.
Cooper's activities and hobbies include horseback riding, farming, being with grandchildren and enjoying their ball games.
