Buchanan is a small village in Haralson County, Georgia. The village has a population of approximately 1,200 people and covers an area of 1.4 square miles. The historical downtown area of Buchanan dates back to the mid-1800s and features several well-preserved buildings and structures from this time period, including a historic railroad station. Buchanan is also home to a number of parks and recreation areas, including the Tallapoosa River, which offers fishing and kayaking opportunities. Additionally, the village hosts a number of annual events and festivals throughout the year, including the Buchanan BBQ Blast, which celebrates the area's rich BBQ traditions.
