One fun fact about the village of Flovilla, Georgia is that it was originally called "Triplet" after the Triplet family who were early settlers in the area, but the name was changed to Flovilla in honor of Florence Stephens, the wife of a railroad manager in the late 1800s. Another verifiable fact is that Flovilla is home to a historic covered bridge, the Indian Springs State Park Bridge, which was built in 1903 and is one of only 13 original covered bridges left in Georgia.
