Brooklyn is a small village located in central Iowa with a population of around 1,400 people. It was first settled in 1854 and officially became a town in 1865. It is situated in Poweshiek County and covers an area of 1.11 square miles, all of which is land.

The town is known for its small-town charm and friendly community, and is home to several local businesses, including a grocery store, hardware store, and several restaurants. The Brooklyn Historical Society has done a great job of preserving and sharing the history of the village, which includes a number of interesting landmarks, such as the Opera House, built in 1897 and still in operation today.
