I am a native of Edwardsville/Glen Carbon and a former co-owner of Century 21 and Coldwell Banker franchises there. More than 25 years ago my father, Merrill, and I started Home Buyers AdvantEDGE Realty, a firm that works only with home buyers. The firm has never represented a single seller as a matter of company philosophy. Im a member of the Greater Gateway Board of Realtors and GlenEd Chamber of Commerce. I hold an ABR degree, ("Accredited Buyer Representative") from REBAC, (Real Estate Buyers Agency Council.) I am also a member of NAEBA, the National Association of Exclusive Buyers Agents.

Im married to my lovely wife Amber, who I met being her next-door neighbor. We have four children and one grandson, little Oscar. We live in the Leclaire area of Edwardsville and my home office is there. I am an avid collector of local stuff and war memorabilia, part of which is displayed in my office, where I'm more than anxious to share it. Local stuff includes arrowheads, other Indian artifacts and old bottles from area businesses no longer present. I am an avid supporter of all St. Louis sports teams. I've received feedback that my stories of local history and lore keep clients entertained during their home search and have received many praises for my upbeat attitude which is accredited to the wonderful family I was raised in.

I dont dabble in real estate, being a Realtor is my full-time career and has been my entire adult life. I know the real estate market in the Metro East and have seen many trends come and go. Well respond accordingly in our strategies and negotiations. There are many advantages for the customer in choosing an exclusive buyers agent, the biggest advantage being it doesnt cost the buyer anything extra. Working with us, youll still see all the homes listed in the MLS as well as many cooperating for sale by owner properties.

Ill never have listings that I try to persuade you to buy. My role is to ensure the home you choose is a good value that fits your needs. I work hard to negotiate the best price and terms for you. I do a lot of valuations to ensure youre offering a fair price for the home. Its okay to pay a fair price, but we never want to overpay for a home. Personally, Im big on the inspection process. We want to make sure the home is in the condition youre expecting to avoid or minimize negative surprises down the road that will cost you money. I can provide advice from my own maintenance experience, I can give recommendations for the right person for the job, or assist in getting bids if we need to go that route. I say we because I take a team approach and youre not alone in this process, especially when its anything out of the norm.

Last but not least, we try to have a good time throughout this whole process. I know sometimes it can be scary or stressful. Ill do my best to handhold, educate and remove any concerns to make this a fun experience.
