With over three decades of dynamic experience spanning the globe, Jon Fisher emerges as a seasoned maestro in agribusiness and real estate landscapes, blending deep-rooted expertise with a passion for community engagement.
Jon was raised on a fifth-generation family farm just south of Champaign, IL. He attended Unity High School in Tolono, IL, where he was voted Senior class president. Jon also participated in sports and musicals in high school.
After graduating from Unity High School, Jon attended the University of Illinois and majored in agricultural economics. However, the majority of his classes were geared towards advertising and marketing. Jon was elected as one of the four freshman representatives to the University of Illinois ag council.
After college, Jon ventured into the pioneering realm of swine genetics, transforming a humble startup into a global enterprise that captured the attention of renowned publications such as Newsweek and The New York Times. In recognition of his unwavering dedication, Jon was honored with the prestigious 2015 Illinois Friends of Agriculture Award by Governor Bruce Rauner, a testament to his exemplary contributions to agriculture in the State of Illinois.
After 22 years of business, Jon found himself burnt out and wanting to tackle new opportunities in life. He closed down the genetic business on June 1st, 2017. Jon became a licensed realtor in November of 2017 and is overjoyed to once again look forward to going to work every morning. Jon is now licensed in 25 states selling mainly commercial properties outside of Illinois, farms throughout Illinois and Indiana, and residential properties generally within a 60-minute radius of Champaign-Urbana.
Jon is a single dad to two amazing kids. His oldest, Jonathon, is 24 years old and works for State Farm corporate. His youngest, Reagan, is 14 years old and attending middle school where she enjoys reading the announcements on the PA system and singing in chorus. Jon also enjoys the companionship of his new grand-dog, Shadow, a 1-year-old Black Lab!
When he's not revolutionizing the real estate scene, you'll find Jon cheering passionately for the Chicago Cubs, soaking in the sun at his beachfront condo in Hilton Head Island, or lending his charismatic voice to the University of Illinois as a PA announcer for mainly Olympic events!
