I have loved all things Real Estate since I was 12 years old. A local real estate icon in BloNo, Mary Ann Downen, allowed me to sit in on the discussions with my parents as we moved 3 times in 5 years. I was intrigued by her stories and her knowledge of all things Real Estate. I was determined to someday create my own stories and build my own relationships.

Illinois requires a licensee to be 21, but I knew I could find another way to get involved before I could legally have an adult beverage. I enrolled in the pre-license class while attending college and when I was 18 got my first shot at Real Estate via a property management company. I was in charge of leasing and evictions for a company that managed almost 500 units, so needless to say I grew up very quickly in the industry. I have managed property and sold commercial and residential Real Estate ever since.

My extensive background has allowed me to work with a melting pot of clients. From the person looking for a 350 dollar per month rental, to someone purchasing a dream home on 25 acres and a private lake, to million dollar plus properties in Chicago, to student housing buildings worth multi-millions. I have seen them all.

I've seen car parts used as plumbing infrastructure, bed bugs and roaches overtake multi-family properties, and gold plated ceiling fans. I've seen wrenches used as door handles and screwdrivers used to flush toilets. I've seen swimming pools used as ponds for fishing and a 2 bedroom apartment built out into an 6 bedroom with 12 beds. I've also seen a 20 x 15 marble tile shower and an indoor hot tub the size of most backyard pools. I've waded waste deep in backed up sewer and swam in a crystal clear spring fed pond to rescue a dropped barbie doll.

I carry an emergency roll of toilet paper in the car as well as my hand tools, hip waders, and of course my HUD keys for foreclosures. I try to be ready for just about anything my clients and I run into.

In 2019 I will also to continue to contribute a portion of all my sales to Friends of EverBloom. It's a non-profit organization that is set up to protect and enhance Lake Bloomington and Evergreen Lake. Both reservoirs are the main source of drinking water for the City of Bloomington. In 2018, the proceeds donated by my real estate team allowed FOE to plant aquatic vegetation at Lake Bloomington as well as 10 trees at North Park Nature Area at Lake Bloomington that we donated to FOE and the Lake Bloomington Association. I look forward to continuing my involvement with FOE as its Vice-President, as well as furthering my wife and I's involvement in the Lake Bloomington Association as its Vice-Presidents.
I don't claim to have "seen it all," but I have seen a lot in my years in the industry. All that being said I love what I do, because everyday is different and there is always something new to learn and explore. So when you are ready to start exploring the real estate market for your next home or property, make sure you call someone who can help guide you through whatever you come across.
