Mike Van Cleve graduated from the University of Illinois in 2002 with a bachelors in Architectural Sciences. While there he also competed on the collegiate wheelchair basketball team. After graduation, Mike moved to Chicago where he practiced architecture, specializing in accessible design and consulting in the ADA and Fair Housing Act. Consulting clients included Fortune 500 companies, architects, and some of the nation's largest residential developers. Mike continued his involvement in adapted athletics, volunteering to coach a local youth wheelchair basketball team.

In 2007, Mike relocated to Peoria, IL, where he continued to practice architecture focusing on healthcare, education, and accessible design. In 2011, Mike then transitioned into a career in residential construction and then a career in residential real estate the following year.

Mike continues his involvement in coaching youth wheelchair basketball with the Peoria Wildcats alongside his wife Katie, Chair of Advocates for Access Board of Directors. Together Mike & Katie have a daughter, and they live in Peoria in a warehouse to home conversion. Mike also is an avid baker making bagels and his signature "Van Cookies" for clients and charity events.

Mike specializes in architecture, construction, accessibility and remodeling transactions.
