Waukegan is the largest city in Lake County, Illinois, with a population of approximately 86,000 people. It is located on the shore of Lake Michigan, about 40 miles north of Chicago. Waukegan has a rich history and was once a major industrial hub, known for its factories and manufacturing plants. Today, the city has gone through a period of revitalization and is a diverse and welcoming community with a growing arts and culture scene.
