Marshall County, located in the northern region of the great state of Indiana, was officially established on February 7, 1836. It was named in honor of John Marshall, a prominent United States Chief Justice who served from 1801 to 1835. The county seat is in Plymouth, which was founded in 1834 and also serves as the largest city in the county.

Historically, the area was inhabited by the Potawatomi tribe, with several trading posts and villages located within the region. In the early 19th century, European-American pioneers began to settle in the region as a result of westward expansion. Agriculture quickly became the primary industry for the communities within the county, and it remains an important part of the local economy today.

Marshall County has experienced steady growth throughout its history. Today, it is home to several noted corporations and industries, including education, healthcare, and manufacturing. Tourism also plays a significant role in the local economy, with several parks and recreational areas drawing visitors to the region.

Fun Fact: One of the most unique attractions in Marshall County is the annual Blueberry Festival held in Plymouth during Labor Day Weekend. The festival started in 1967 and has since grown into one of the largest festivals in Indiana, attracting more than 300,000 visitors annually. The event features live entertainment, food vendors, handmade crafts, and of course, plenty of blueberry-themed treats.
