Shirley is a small village located in Hancock County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population of Shirley was 830 people. It is located about 17 miles east of Indianapolis and approximately 12 miles southeast of Greenfield, the county seat. The village was incorporated in 1913 and was named after Samuel Shirley, who platted the original town. Shirley has a post office, a volunteer fire department, and several small businesses. It is a quiet and rural community with a mix of residential and agricultural areas.
