Shelburn is a small village with a population of around 1,200 people. It was founded in the 1860s and was named after a prominent citizen and businessman of the time, John Shelburn. The village is located on US Route 41, north of Terre Haute, and is known for its historic downtown district, which features a number of buildings from the early 20th century. Shelburn is also home to the annual Shelburn Homecoming Festival, which celebrates the village's history and heritage with live music, food, and other festivities.
