Shelley is a fourth generation Realtor and is a Senior Partner along with her brother Andrew Lyman and father Doug Lyman in the Lyman Staton Group, a team of Realtors that puts great energy into personal touches, winning negotiations and top notch service to their clients. Shelley Staton is a lifetime Kansas City native and currently lives in Leawood Kansas with her high school sweetheart and two sons. This history gives her great familiarity with the different neighborhoods and schools in the Kansas City area. Shelley graduated from Notre Dame De Sion and Rockhurst University with a BA in Business Communication and Marketing. Prior to real estate, Shelley was an advertising executive with The Business Journal and was responsible for marketing million dollar homes in the Distinctive Homes Section. Shelley also has worked with several investors and has special insights into redesign and remodeling that she has used with past clients and her own personal homes.
Shelley has a personal passion to support Children's Mercy Hospital and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation by fundraising, volunteering and creating public awareness and is committed to giving back in the community. Every time we help buy or sell a home we donate $100 to Ronald McDonald House in KC which pays for a family to spend a night at RMHKC. This provides families with sick children a place to rest and recuperate while providing them the care and supportive services they need to get through challenging times.
Shelley's great grandfather built the Professional Building, a historic landmark in downtown Kansas City, her grandfather and his partners developed Corporate Woods Office Park in Overland Park, her grandmother was a residential real estate broker, who kept an active license until her death at the age of 81 and working with her brother and her father helping people is the best job in the world.
