At the age of 18, AF moved to Wichita and lived with his uncle and his uncles family while he attended Wichita State University. His uncle, a respected surgeon, would emphasize that one has to master the necessary skills to be the best in whatever career one chooses, but thats not enough. You have to be compassionate. You see, people dont care how much you know until they know how much you care. Expressing his loyalty to Wichita, he would always remind his children and AF, You owe it to the community in which you make your living and raise your family to give back to society in any way you can. Wichita has been good to us. We must give back. AF was listening, watching, and learning by example.

What he learned from his father and his uncle contributed to AFs success in various endeavors, including being a parent, a businessman, a real estate developer, and a general contractor. Yet as busy as he is, he always finds time for his extended family and community service. He has been an active member on boards at private and parochial schools, a successful fundraiser for causes in which he believes, an active member of volunteer organizations like Rotary Club International, and vice president of his parish council.Throughout his life, AF always remembers a statement his uncle would say with a smile, Its a great life! And indeed it is, especially if one is blessed to live in Wichita.
