Hi friends! My name is Kimberly Wimmer. I've been a licensed REALTOR for more than five years and I am head over heels in love with my career, and the God given gift of helping others love where they live. Sitting at the closing table with my clients, regardless of whether I was hired to open a door or close a door, brings me joy second only to the joy my children make me feel. In addition to being a real estate agent, I also own a property management company operating in Sedgwick and Butler counties. A little background for you to digest: I am a single mom of one adult married daughter and two daughters still in high school. My oldest is married with seven children. I know right...Wow! She and her husband are raising their children in Newton, KS and stay super busy with their entourage in tow. My middle child, who would remind me that she is 18 now and also an adult...ignore, ignore, ignore...will be a freshman at WSU for the 20-21 calendar school year. AND my baby girl is a sophomore ready to follow her big sis to college. Needless to say with two high schoolers in the home and Covid-19 causing chaos, we've had some very sad, emotional moments as my graduating senior's right of passage, high school moments, were stolen from her. We will persevere! For the majority of my children's childhood I was blessed to be a school bus driver for their school district and got to enjoy many, many, wonderful field trips, not to mention being their bus driver. I really believe that season in my life was a gift from God and has made me a better, more empathetic, and caring person. For 13 years I was co-owner/operator of an HVAC company with my ex-husband. I drove the bus in the morning and afternoon, and worked our business during the day. Some days were very interesting! Needing to be a loving, patient, human being for the children, then immediately transition into adult comfort calls(hell hath no fury like a sweating woman) then back to loving, patient, human, prepared me for real estate. I am titanium! In May 2014 my children and I experienced a very painful event. Financially devastated with no idea what we would do, I sold pies during Thanksgiving and Christmas of that year to pay my way through real estate classes. In January 2015 I took and passed my Kansas Real Estate Exam--on the first try--and by mid February I was fully licensed. March 1, 2015 I began my real estate career with RE/MAX and closed my first transaction on March, 27th. Wow, what a great adventure God set me on! If someone was to ask me to take all of my experiences in life, including the good and the bad and share one piece of advice with my clients, that would help them in their home buying or selling season, it would be that a house is just walls, windows and gingerbread. A house will not make you happy! I know it sounds crazy for a real estate agent to say that, but it is true. I don't want to help you forward folly's address. A house full of love, laughter and joy...despite the unavoided failures and pains of life...is loving where you live!
