Why do you like working in the real estate industry?
Every new client becomes a new relationship that represents it\'s very own unique circumstances, goals, challenges, etc. I love building these relationships and developing them into much more than simply a Real Estate Sale. Of course the "Sale" is good too!!
Why do you choose to affiliate your business with Semonin?
I was familiar with several agents at Semonin and respected them enough to know that this was the place to be. Once I became a part of the Semonin Family I have never thought for a second of going anywhere else. Semonin provides the best tools and support to help me deliver the absolute best service and results for my clients!! It\'s just that simple!!
What sets you apart from other REALTORS? What are your greatest strengths as a real estate agent?
I try hard to treat every client as the unique person/family that they are. Every client, property, buyer, seller, etc. all have their own situations, and they all deserve to have a Real Estate experience that is customized to meet their specific needs. Not perfect, but working on it!!
What do you do to stay up-to-date/knowledgeable about the real estate industry?
Always taking advantage of the tremendous training and informational opportunities that Semonin provides! I also try to keep a watch on our local economy/happenings thru local news, trade groups and an occasional social media post.
What did you do before you began working in real estate? Has anything you learned on that/those jobs helped you with your real estate business? If so, what/how?
After growing up on a farm in Central Indiana, I studied Aviation in collage with dreams of being a commercial pilot. I achieved that, however timing was not good and jobs at that time were tough to come by. I stayed in transportation however with years of sales and management (including the moving industry). These experiences all taught me many of the tough lessons that I use today to be a better business person, mentor and guide for my clients as they travel thru the Real Estate journey.
Are you involved in any trade/civic or community organizations? If yes, please explain.
Have been active over the years in Scouting, Education Foundation, Rotary and many sporting teams (helping with our kids activities).
What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Why do you enjoy this?
Love to fly and hope to find more time in future years for this. Also enjoy time with my family and friends. Swimming is my exercise of choice and I need to find (make) more time for this as it combines the needed muscle/cardio workout that I must improve on, but also provides a great escape for a small period of time with no outside interruption.
What is the best piece of advice youve ever received? Why is it so helpful to you?
"It's hard to know what you don't know". It is the basis for my inquisitive mindset and has helped me dig deeper to find answers and to be open to new ideas and concepts. Mostly I remind myself of this whenever I start to feel like I am talking too much. We learn when we listen!!
What is your favorite book / type of book? Why?
Tribe of Millionaires with Crucial Conversations a close second.
What is your favorite movie / type of movie? Why?
After at least 100+ viewings I still find it hard to not watch Forest Gump. I think the combination of spotlighting events that were relevant during my upbringing years along with a generally great story line that I relate with is why it continues to be so compelling for me.
What is your favorite song / type of music? Why?
I enjoy many different types of music, but mostly listen to Classic Rock, Country, some new Hip Hop with my kids, and occasionally while driving long distance by myself I find some Classical really enjoyable.
If you could wave a magic wand, what one thing would you most like to change in the world? Why?
I have no tolerance for abuse in any form.
What is your favorite word / a word you like? Why?
"Love" "Situational" is a very close second. It fits everything in life.
What is your least favorite word / a word you don't like? Why?
"Hate"
