Give me soil & seeds and water or give me death...lol. Maybe that was a tad dramatic. But I do get a tremendous amount of joy and peace tooling around outside with my dogs on my soon to be thriving 5 acre farm in Murfreesboro, TN. My attitude toward real estate changed tremendously in 2018 when I home schooled my younger 2 sons. Our curriculum was highly entrepreneurial with Rich Dad Poor Dad as one of our textbooks. It was then that it hit me in the face that I had real estate all wrong.
Real estate in the way that most of us buy it is a big fat liability. Even with a heft down payment or walking into equity, buying a house and paying a mortgage is a liability. UNLESS, you turn it into an asset in some way. Liabilities take money. Assets make money. So, it quickly became my primary focus to convert my property into an asset. The easiest way for me to do that was to rent out an apartment on my property and grow high demand cash crops. Which is when I became a mushroom farmer....lol. Crazy right?!
Now, my mission in life is to help others acquire real estate with an 'asset' mindset. Encouraging clients to ask themselves, "How can I purchase this property and easily make it pay for itself?" Usually the answer lies in some agricultural solution. Which makes me a very, very happy girl.
