Logan County is situated in the southwestern region of the great state of Kentucky, USA. Established on September 1, 1792, Logan County was named in honor of Benjamin Logan, a notable Revolutionary War hero and Kentucky statesman. The county was originally formed from the larger Lincoln County and is currently the 13th oldest of Kentucky's 120 counties.

During its early years, Logan County grew quickly as white settlers migrated to the area following the Revolutionary War. The county seat, Russellville, was founded in 1798 and played an essential role in the region's development. Russellville was even briefly intended to be the capital of the Confederate government of Kentucky during the American Civil War.

A striking feature of Logan County's history is the Red River Meeting House, which was erected between 1791 and 1811. This church, one of the oldest in Kentucky, hosted the first documented religious camp meeting in the United States in 1800, known as the "Great Revival." Thousands of people gathered there, and this event marked the beginning of the Second Great Awakening, a Protestant religious revival that significantly influenced American history.

A fun fact about Logan County is that it is home to the world's longest yard sale, the "127 Corridor Sale." It spans 690 miles, starting from Addison, Michigan, and ending in Gadsden, Alabama, passing through Russellville, Logan County. This annual event attracts thousands of vendors and shoppers, turning into a fascinating and unique experience.
