John worked building or remodeling homes and income producing properties in New Orleans before becoming a full time REALTOR. He worked on over 5 million dollars of residential construction. My experience building and repairing homes in this market has given me a unique perspective as an agent to truly define the true value of properties. Working with developers, contractors, and homeowners in the field provided a firm foundation to assist the needs of investors and home owners alike. One of the most valuable aspects of this experience was spending large amounts of time in a diverse number of neighborhoods. I really got to live in all different parts of the city; I spent an enormous amount of time in nearly every neighborhood in New Orleans.

I view every potential transaction from a financial perspective first. This is often the biggest investment one makes in their life; I treat it that way. I insure that the buyer or seller is armed with all relevant information to maximize their return on their investment. Information about the market is a must, but this is the bare minimum. I educate my clients of all possible tax incentives from historical tax credits, to tax abatement, to 1031 exchanges to truly maximize their return. Something as simple as utilizing a historical tax credit could mean hundreds of thousands of dollars over the course of someones life. The construction contacts has provided homeowners with the ability to make some changes to their home with the confidence of knowing they are getting quality work at a reasonable cost.

Although Johns knowledge of construction and the finances behind a transaction are valuable, he feels that his most valuable attribute is his ability to communicate. Communication is everything throughout the process of selling a home. My clients know that I will work tirelessly to insure that all information is communicated effectively and timely. With some deals just one wrong word spoken or a word not spoken can ruin a deal. People are not robots. Managing the emotions involved in a transaction is vital to getting a deal done. The number one reason deals fall through is conflict between buy/seller, buyer/agent, seller/agent. Some of that conflict is inevitable, but how I deal with the conflict and work all parties through the conflict allows all parties to stay focused on the end goal.
