I have been involved in different aspects of housing for over thirty years. My experience has given me the opportunity to become familiar with many geographic areas including the Plymouth, Bristol and Norfolk County areas.
I have a Degree in Business as well as one in Social Work and have been fortunate to use my education and skills in different areas.
For twenty-eight years I worked in Social Services on a number of different housing related programs, one of which was the First Time Homebuyer Program. Under this program I was responsible for the administration and compliance with running the First Time Homebuyer Workshops which gave participants a certificate of completion and the opportunity to apply for down payment and closing assistance. I was also responsible for the down payment and closing cost assistance programs, approving and releasing the funds.
There were many more housing related programs I worked on but these two are closest to home buying. Having the opportunity to run these programs has given me great insight as to the concerns of first time homebuyers and the resources they might be eligible for.
In 2006 I made a career change to become a Full-Time Real Estate Agent. I entered the market in a difficult time when sales were plummeting, values dropping and far too many people losing their homes. Despite the difficult times I have continually been number two in sales in our office! I believe this is due to my dedication to my profession and my customers.
After identifying that short sales were a big part of our market I became certified in Loss Mitigation. With this training I learned in-depth about the short sale process, how to deal with banks, what the customer needs to provide and also how to handle bank owned properties.
I have been very fortunate to have worked with many first time homebuyers and am getting repeat business and referrals from past customers.
