Marlborough is a city in Middlesex County, Massachusetts with a population of approximately 40,000 people. The city was incorporated in 1660 and is known for its historic sites such as the Peter Rice Homestead, which is one of the oldest surviving houses in Marlborough. The city is also home to the New England Sports Center, one of the largest indoor ice rinks in the world, and is known for its vibrant business community, hosting many companies including Boston Scientific and Raytheon. Marlborough is also home to several parks and recreational areas, including the Assabet River Rail Trail, a scenic 5.6-mile trail for hiking and biking.
