Braddock Heights was once a popular summer resort town that attracted visitors from Washington D.C. and Baltimore, due to its cooler temperatures and scenic views from the mountaintop. In fact, the Braddock Hotel, which opened in 1898, was known as the "Queen of the Mountain" and served as a popular destination for vacationers. Today, the hotel has been converted into condominiums but the village still maintains its historic charm.
