2. The name "Cabin John" comes from the legend of a young boy who lived in a small cabin near the creek in the early 19th century. He delivered fresh milk to nearby residents, and was nicknamed "Cabintown Johnny," which eventually became "Cabin John."
3. The Cabin John Park was established in 1905 and is one of the largest parks in Montgomery County. It has numerous recreational activities such as hiking, biking, and fishing.
4. The community is also home to the Cabin John Regional Park Ice Rink, which is the largest indoor rink in Montgomery County. The rink is a popular destination for ice hockey, figure skating, and public skating.
