Anson is a small town in the central part of the U.S. state of Maine, which is located in Somerset County. The town sits on approximately 40 square miles of land, with a population of around 2,000 people. It was first settled in the mid-1700s, and the town was incorporated in 1798. Anson is known for its rolling hills and scenic beauty, with a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities such as hiking, fishing, and snowmobiling. Additionally, the Anson Railroad Station is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as it is a well-preserved example of a rural train station from the early 1900s.
